A triumphant tale of Beijing heritage preservation / by Thomas O'Malley

This heritage piece for DestinAsian Magazine details the rejuvenation of a long forgotten and largely derelict Buddhist temple in Beijing. The restored complex now holds TRB (which gets my vote for one of Beijing's best restaurants) and the Temple Hotel, which I've written about elsewhere. UPDATE - In December 2013 I was delighted to learn that the Temple complex had been given an Award of Merit at the 2012 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation. Congratulations to everyone involved.
